"Established in 1972, LITE fills the need for continuing education in the ever changing health care field."

About LITE

One of the most critical and demanding needs in the ever-changing health care field is continuing education. Unfortunately, most of the traditional sources of education are not equipped to keep pace with rapid advances that are going on in health care.

That's why LITE, the League of Intravenous Therapy Education, was founded in 1972. LITE, a non-profit organization, was the first professional organization for nurses, pharmacists and other professionals active in IV therapy. It is an organization with close ties with community and university hospitals and ambulatory and home care settings.

MISSION STATEMENT

It is the mission of the League of Intravenous Therapy Education (LITE), a national educational association for infusion therapy, vascular access, home care, oncology, acute care, and extended care, to educate the health care community. LITE will accomplish this mission by:
· Promoting and providing professional opportunities through scholarly activity, networking and educational seminars.
· Establishing guidelines that promote safe, efficient and cost-effective intravenous therapy in a multitude of care settings.
